Still feeling thankful

I hope you all had a very lovely Thanksgiving! It’s really one of my favorite days of the year for this reason: I don’t do anything but eat. I don’t even cook. My mother in law LOVES to cook thanksgiving dinner and she never lets me help clean up. I really do think the Lord blesses me with a little piece of heaven every year on that day!

Every year I really plan on blogging or youtubing during the holidays but I find that it’s really hard with family and friends and…well…resting. However I have been meditation on what I’ve been thankful for this year all month.

I’m thankful for the health of my children. If any of you have followed me since the beginning of my blog you saw that really long blog I wrote on the horrifying experience we had with my daughter concerning her allergies and eczema which landed her in the hospital. I feel like I’ve lived most of my children’s early years in the hospital from either asthma, allergic reactions to foods, or eczema. But the second half of this year has been hospital free! PRAISE GOD!

I’m thankful for my husband who is so supportive of me. I’m thankful for our relationship and the fact that we were able to celebrate nine years together this month!

I’m thankful for my parents who pray constantly for me. Who encourage me and are always on my side. My parents are inspiring to me. I am also blessed to have a wonderful mother in law who I consider a friend and mentor. She is also an inspiration to me. I am surrounded by saints who have walked with the Lord for many years and their lives challenge me. When I look at them I truly will say “Baby, when you in Jesus, age ain’t nothin’ but a number!!!”. The missionaries in my church just returned from another trip to Africa and they are over 70 years old married for 50 years and still going strong!

I’m thankful for my friends who have been through thick and thin and..ahem “thicker” with me. I know I can call on them anytime and they will be there. I’m thankful for my new friends I’ve met this year through blogging and youtube. So yes…I’m thankful for the internet!

There is so much more to say. But I will end it here. I’m thankful for God in my life. I’m thankful that Jesus made Himself small and came to this fallen world to save us. He did not see fit to leave us to die in a sinful state but because of His unconditional love came and suffered and died and gave Himself as a sacrifice for our sins. I continue to marvel at this fact. And now I’m grateful that the season is upon us where we can reflect upon this great gift to us.

Have a GREAT DAY!!! (I mean it.)
